I regret to inform you that the 1-meter telescope at Wise Observatory was taken offline yesterday. There's a problem with the guide motor which prevents the telescope from tracking accurately. The team at Wise Observatory is investigating the problem.
The Wise telescope is equipped with an NRES spectrograph. With this telescope out-of-service, NRES observations are currently not possible with any network telescope. The SAAO and CTIO sites are closed. McDonald Observatory is open, but the backend camera on the NRES unit (which was scheduled for service in March) has a vacuum leak.
