NGC 247 (Caldwell 62) is an intermediate spiral galaxy in the constellation Cetus. It has a diameter of 70,000 light-years and is located approximately 11.1 million light-years away from the Earth. It is one of several galaxies gravitationally bound to the Sculptor Galaxy (NGC253), forming a small core in the centre of the Sculptor Group.
