LCO Wins Major NSF Grant for the Expansion of Astronomical Network
Hunting Outbursting Young Stars (HOYS)
About
HOYS is a citizen science project working with amateur astronomers. They provide observational data for our star and planet formation research. HOYS as an LCO Global Sky partner will engage with school teachers. We will train them to obtain HOYS data with LCO and thus enable them to sign up to and use the Faulkes Telescope project. Further training and online tools to process and analyse HOYS data will be provided. This guidance will allow teachers and their pupils to conduct their own small research projects with the data obtained by them and the wealth of other publicly available HOYS data.
